Exactly. But a gold-backed currency ALSO means debt. Only a government capable of creating its own money as it wishes can eliminate any debt. The risk is of course inflation, but when looking over the past year, with 23700 billion of new money created (nearly doubling the money supply), I can’t see how this can be worth than presently.
