Can you tell me about Forex and currency trading?

I really should get more educated before I decide if I would like to do this. Basically if you could give me a brief overview of currencty trading. Also, how much would I need to have in my forex account to actually make it worth the time and effort of trading and to be able to make any money? I’m a college student so a couple hundred bucks is probably all I could put in adn that’s even stretching it a little. [...read more]

How do I set up forex currency pairs to watch in my Yahoo Finance page?

I just started trading penny.com/forex/forex-trading/”title=”Froex trading” >Forex pairs and I need to be able to collect price data for the last 10 time periods (hours, days or weeks) so that I can input this information into my trading platform to give me an idea on where the price of the currency pair will move next.

Can anyone tell me how to get this info into my yahoo finance page so that it updates with the movement of the currency pairs?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!

What is the best site for trading stocks and currency exchange?

I am completely new to the world of trading stocks or currency, but I want to get started. I see ads for all these different websites (ameritrade, etrade, etc.), and I was wondering, which (if any) would be the best for a beginner? I’m not looking to get rich quick, but I would like to start investing my money for the long term.

Also, which if any of these sites offers a way to trade currencies? Ideally, I would become a member of the site with the best combination of both of these (trading stocks and currency).

Thanks [...read more]

Why Isn’t There A Forex Currency Index?

Just like the stocks are combined into NASDAQ for example, then why can’t you combine the forex pairs and assign them a mathematical value???
Take a look here:
http://www.fxstreet.com/rates-charts/currencies-glance/
Fxstreet lists 34 forex pairs.
Benefits:
- Less risk.More pairs – less risk. Traders will take advantage because the market is open day/night in contrast to the daily trades among the stock market. That said, the forex traders gain several times more action with reduced risk, thanks to the combination of many pairs at once. No surprises anymore:Think about it: The european bank annouces higher rates, but the expectations were for lower rates. So, if you trade EUR/USD you will lose when you have selled. With such important news you will lose perhaps over 50 pips and if you trade on 100:1 leverage buying more than 1 lot…say goodbye to your money. Even without leverage the big players will lose, unless they utilize some industrial espionage :) to predict the rates that are going to be anoounced. So…if the one pair goes higher with 50 pips, else will go downtrend with 50, which keeps the balance. Of course if the balance is perfect :) 50/50 the index won’t move and you will not benefit at all [...read more]

Forex Trading

My next best friend… Forex (Foreign Exchange Market); also called Currency Trading or FX.  I know my foundation is Penny Stocks, but you should never put all your eggs in one basket.  Trading currencies can be very profitable.  In my opinion they’re a very popular investment right now.  With their lower costs, stock characteristics, and acceptable taxes they’re bound to gain more popularity as the market starts to pick up.  Why not take the opportunity to invest in many different currencies all at once?  Educating yourself on how to trade currencies properly can be your road to financial freedom.  If you want to become a FX trader, here are some tips that I’d like to share with you.
